The Patriot Report

Freedom High School Newsletter #6

December 13, 2025

From the Desk of Charles France, Principal

Dear Patriot Family,

As we approach the end of the semester, I want to take a moment to share how proud I am of the energy, effort, and heart our students bring to Freedom each day. From academics and the arts to athletics, service, and student leadership, our Patriots continue to show what it means to represent our school with pride and purpose.
As we close the quarter, I encourage every student to take these final days seriously—finish strong, stay focused, and continue striving for excellence in everything you do. Whether it’s catching up on assignments, seeking help where it’s needed, or setting new goals, every step you take now helps shape your success moving forward.
Thank you for the dedication, resilience, and spirit you bring to our campus. Let’s wrap up this semester with determination and celebrate all we’ve accomplished together.
Wishing everyone a positive and productive finish—and a restful, well‑deserved break ahead.
Go Patriots!

With Patriot Pride,

Charles M. France
Principal, Freedom High School

Academic Excellence: Where Patriots Achieve

Literacy in Action Across Campus

Our campus continues to shine with meaningful literacy experiences that bring reading to life for students.
In Ms. Angel’s class, students embraced the joy of reading beyond the classroom walls. By taking their books outdoors, they explored new environments that encouraged focus, creativity, and a deeper love for literature. This simple change of scenery turned reading time into an opportunity for reflection, independence, and enjoyment.
Meanwhile, in Ms. Kline’s classroom, students are strengthening connections through mentorship. Her students are partnering with ESE students, reading with them, and engaging in collaborative literacy activities. These moments foster confidence, build community, and highlight the power of inclusive learning.
Across campus, literacy is more than a subject—it's a shared experience that brings students together.

Join the Freedom High School Reading Challenge!

Get ready, Patriots, our campus is diving into a school‑wide Reading Challenge, and you are invited to be part of the excitement! Every minute you read brings you closer to earning fun prizes and celebrating your growth as a reader.
Participating is simple:
  • Read anything you love—books, articles, graphic novels, audiobooks, you name it!
  • Log your reading minutes in your Beanstack account
  • Earn badges and qualify for rewards
Not only is this a chance to win great prizes, but reading has incredible benefits for all Freedom High School students. It strengthens vocabulary, boosts critical‑thinking skills, supports academic success, and even helps reduce stress. The more you read, the stronger and more confident you become—both in and out of the classroom.
Let’s make Freedom High School a community of passionate readers.

Student Voice in Action: Patiot Council Monthly Meetings

At Freedom High School, our students play a powerful role in shaping the decisions that impact their daily lives. Through our Patriot Council monthly meetings, student leaders come together to share ideas, raise concerns, and collaborate with staff to create meaningful solutions that benefit the entire school community.
These meetings give students a platform to express what matters most to them—from improving campus experiences to strengthening academic and social supports. Their perspectives help guide important decisions and ensure that student needs remain at the heart of everything we do.
We are proud of our students for stepping up, speaking out, and helping make Freedom High School a place where every student’s voice truly matters.

This well‑earned victory brings the Patriots’ record to 1–7–2, while Cypress Creek now stands at 6–4 after the loss. The momentum is building, and Freedom is ready to carry it forward.

Freedom High School’s boys’ and girls’ wrestling teams are kicking off the season with outstanding performances and major momentum.
The girls’ wrestling team is off to an exceptional start, claiming tournament championships at both the Flagler Rotary and Let Freedom Ring events. Their dominance continued in dual competition, where they delivered a powerful 62–18 victory over Ocoee, showcasing depth, strength, and teamwork across the lineup.
The boys’ wrestling team also opened their season with an impressive showing. In their first competition against Ocoee, the Patriots secured a commanding 51–24 win, setting a positive tone for the challenges ahead. This weekend, the boys will travel to Gainesville to compete in their first tournament of the season as they continue building momentum.
Both teams are representing Freedom with pride, resilience, and championship energy. Go Patriots!
