Barry University Dual Enrollment Courses

Freedom High School is proud to partner with Barry University to offer students the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. Through these dual enrollment courses, students experience rigorous college-level learning, develop valuable academic and career skills, and gain a head start on their postsecondary goals. These courses help students strengthen critical thinking, communication, leadership, and professional skills while exploring future college and career pathways.

Our Barry University offerings include:

  • SLS 1106 – First-Year Experience: Focuses on academic success strategies, college readiness, time management, study skills, and personal growth.
  • SLS 2332 – Career Development: Helps students explore career interests, set goals, and develop plans for future educational and professional success.
  • SLS 2260 – Leadership Development: Builds leadership, collaboration, communication, and decision-making skills that prepare students to lead in school, college, and the workplace.
  • EDU 160 – Introduction to the Teaching Profession: Introduces students to careers in education and the foundational principles of teaching and learning.
  • EDU 221 – Foundations of Education: Provides a deeper exploration of educational systems, instructional practices, and the role of educators in supporting student success.
